One example - new onerous controls on APCP (a type of solid rocket fuel used in amateur rocketry) under the Homeland Security Act and enforced by the BATFE. Requires background checks, prints, licensing to use the stuff under the assumption that 1) it is an explosive (even though it can't even be forced to explode) and 2) it would be used by terrorists. The latter point is laughable since there are so many easier more effective methods of terrorism than trying to build a guided missile.

APCP is simply not a threat, but we as a country waste time, money, and more importantly, "a little piece of our right to pursue happiness" on it. Just like making my 85-year old mother take off her shoes at the airport. Absolutely inane.
