Tuesday July 15, 9:02 am ET
Leading Video Book Publisher Launches Americana Entertainment, Ltd.

ALBUQUERQUE, July 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Americana Publishing, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: APBH - News) said it has launched a wholly owned subsidiary, Americana Entertainment, Ltd. (AEL). The new entity will greatly expand the scope of product offerings and distribution capabilities of the audio book publisher.

The Company said AEL will consist of two divisions, a video/DVD distribution company and a movie production arm.

"It is intended the video distribution division will contract with both major and independent studios to distribute, in sets of three to five classic movie series featuring stars such as John Wayne and Robert Mitchum, through our well-established, national retail network," said George Lovato, Jr., Americana Publishing, Inc. chairman and chief executive officer. "The production division will be responsible for films within the one-and-a-half to six-million dollar budget range, primarily based on successful books we've already published."

Lovato said the Company plans to produce and release three such movies within the next 12 months.

"This is a natural extension of our business model and the synergies of the two divisions are obvious," Lovato said. "If we cannot effect a theater release of one of our movies, we can go right to video/DVD and have guaranteed distribution through our existing retail network. Additionally, we will mix the distribution of this movie with movies out of our series catalog."

Americana Publishing, Inc. is a leading publisher in the nearly $2 billion audio books industry. The Company currently has approximately 350 book titles and should have well over 400 by year-end, which it sells through the Internet, nearly 30,000 retail stores, approximately 5,000 libraries as well as major truck stop distributors. The Company also has a growing print book division and just launched a film production and distribution division, Americana Entertainment, Ltd.
