SS,

The Marines and the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency
found tons (note the plural) of yellow cake uranium in Iraq, which has no native sources of uranium and no mining.

The controversy about the intelligence surrounding the Niger deal notwithstanding - where did it come from? And when? Certainly the Tuwaitha nuclear facility near Zafaraniya was known to the UN, but there were dozens of sites.

The fact that they hid the processing equipment (in rose gardens among other places) necessary to enrich the yellow cake shows some intent? Or do you think that Sadaam was running a benign government and had no intent to restart this program?

John

What kind of position do you want a country's leader to take.?
Did Roosevelt say "Damn, I stupidly left our entire Pacific fleet in Pearl. We had warnings but disregarded them.
Lost most of our battleships. Do you ( the public) think we should surrender ?. I know its tough to learn to speak and write Japanese."
" I could declare war, but you know how risky that is and we are liable to get tangled up with the Germans and lose millions of casualties." Did he tell us that?
" I know you each have an opinion and want to be heard on this, but thats impossible. Your voice resides in the Congressmen you elected and I will seek their advice as the Constitution provides"
Nah, he called it a "day that would live in infamy "- and everyone with 1/2 a brain knew what that meant and which way we were going
Is this a sales job? Of course. Did bush do a sales job?
Yes, he was selling us on the program Congress had voted to do and carrying out the edicts and resolutions of the UN.
Are some unhappy about that - lots of them The solution is to be much more careful of who we vote for in Congress, be wary of those who think the job is to get more Federal bucks for their district. Those are our bucks.
