I'm not claiming that you're the only deluded idiot who believes the above logic. It's commonplace. Heck, 50% of the human population has IQ below 100, LOL. Let's follow this logic more carefully, shall we? You agree that US soldiers carried chemical weapon defenses into Iraq, don't you? And that US soldiers train with them all the time, right? And you agree that the reason that US soldiers carry this stuff around is not because the US plans to use chemical weapons, but instead because some of America's possible enemies may have chemical weapons, right? So go look at Iraq's enemies and count up how many of them have chemical weapons: Iran is currently able to employ chemical weapons, and Iran is progressing in its development of a large self-supporting CW infrastructure. fas.org Syria invests a great deal in developing and procuring weapons of mass destruction, but from a qualitative standpoint, its strategic weapons are greatly inferior to those of Israel, writes Jane's Sentinel. fas.org Israel has nuclear and chemical weapons, and an offensive BW program. fas.org Of course Iraqi soldiers carry chemical defense gear to protect themselves. They were slimed by the Iranians during the Iran/Iraq war. Three of their local enemies have chemical weapons. The motto of the military is "be prepared", so Iraqi soldiers, just like US soldiers, carry chemical weapons defenses. If you don't carry around defenses, even stuff like tear gas can take down military units, of course Iraq was equipped with chemical weapons defenses. That you have to include this sorry logic is a great indication of how weak the case for attacking Iraq was. -- Carl
