I don't like the subsidies. I don't like the mandates forcing me to use it.

So what is it about ethanol that you really don't like?

<<So what is it about ethanol that you really don't like? I always thought cleaner air is a plus.>>

Love clean air. Ethanol is a multi billion dollars fraud on the taxpayer and doesn't really produce clean air as touted. It is a payoff to the big agri conglomerates for political slush. That includes repubs as well as dems. Anything for the vote at the next election. 80% of the agricultural subsidies touted as help for the 'family' farmers goes to the top 20% of the farm producers. Multimillion dollar conglomerates or multimillionair farmers. Little gets down to the 'family farmer', whom is basically extinct. As an example, several years ago, when the milk slush payoff was found to be concentrated within a few huge milk producers, Congress, in its infinite wisdom, set a maximum pay off per farm entity at 1 million dollars. Not bad, eh? Taking care of our dollars, aren't they. One, among many, intrepid famer in California solved this potential loss of million of dollars by splitting his family farm into 5 separate farms and placed his sons and their wives as owners, he,the father, keeping major control.
What appeared to be a single million dollar payout morphed, apparently legally, into 5 million bucks. I have not read that the rule has been amended. I have no quarrel with clean air, if ethanol produced it, but, like global warming, there is no scientific proof it is not dirtier because of ethanol use. The stealing of my taxpayer dollar, so these corrupt politicians can stay in office, infuriates me. My same feelings apply to the corrupt school system in this country. After throwing well over a trillion dollars at the problem it is now worse than ever. How about vouchers. Am I kidding. The teachers unions and their Democrat sustainers would never allow them. Information released today states that seventh grade students in Washington, DC,cannot read , and are functionally illiterate. Shame on those politicians who have created these monsters, not the kids, the systems.

Excuse the rant.

Peace Ken
