The Hollywood Ten were identified in 1946 by the House Unamerican Activities Committee (HUAC). Joe McCarthy never served in the House, nor did he get elected to the Senate until 1947.

And your point was? Just for the record mine wasn't about the Hollywood Ten.

The NYTimes had a crossword puzzle a few years ago that gave as a clue "Sen. McCarthy's grp" for which the correct answer was to be HUAC. A correction a few days later said "McCarthy was ideologically akin" but had no connection. In their opinion I presume LOL. God, even the crossword puzzle is perverted.
