That's about 1.5 million people. They, along with imported terrorist partners, will need to be dealt with before true independence emerges. Actually Bill. I would suggest that you don't need to "deal" with their 1.5 million whackos ...any more than we need to "deal" with our 10 million home grown whackos. All that's required is that you be willing to pay the price of going about your business, both here and there, despite their yearning to be free to do as their Whacko Genes may dictate. Frankly it appears to be a fairly small price to pay to retain your status as top dog. ...But in the age of "have it your way, have it fast, have it free, have it all, and if I can't have it I know a good lawyer who'll get it for me " it remains to be seen whether Numero Uno will be able to avoid slippage. <g> I suspect you will need to up the pay rate for your enlistees, but with the job market around the globe being what it is, this should not be an insurmountable problem. You'll also need to acclimate to the bad press. After all, you actually pay the press to present "bad" news, in lieu of the good stuff. So it should come as no surprise whatever, that bad press is what you will get. You could of course make martyrs of about 100,000 of those 1.5 million. Or you could fund a few inadequate Iraqi jails in which to house them. But this of course would not only require you to cope with bad press. You'd also have Amnesty International and most of France screaming "War Criminals!" and demanding the head of 2% of your public officers. But again, ...when you really get down to it, this too is a small price to pay for No. 1 on the hit parade. <vbg> Never underestimate the value of being No. 1. But I suspect that we have had so much "bad press" while sitting a top the charts that a very small portion of the population now recognizes this. You see "advertising" is advertising. Whether it's Saturday morning toons pumping cereal, the NY Times shoveling the "bad press" facts, or CNBC putting pretty faces on our financial illusions, it all effects our thoughts and deeds. Right now 65% of us "voters" have been convinced that "life" must always be a bowl of cherries - sweetened to taste - and if it isn't, then we are duty bound to change cereals/channels/parties, pass another law, or get a smarter lawyer. On the face of it, ...I'd say an Aids infected leper has a better chance of getting this country to pay the required price than you do. But this is just my guess mind you. ...I'm just the resident tragic-comedian. I could be wrong.<g> 0|0
