Excluding one-time items, the company reported income of $19 million, or 1 cent a share, down from $39 million, or 2 cents.

That exceeded by one penny the consensus of analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call. Revenue fell 10 percent to $6.2 billion from $6.9 billion a year ago. Looking ahead, Motorola said it does not see much improvement in the second half of the year.
