Generally the burden of proof is considered to be on the person asserting something....

For example, if I say that SI is really controlled by aliens from the planet Mars, it really doesn't make logical sense for me to tell you to prove it isn't. I mean I COULD say that, but it isn't logical. Burden should be on the person asserting.

"appeal to ignorance - absence of evidence is not proof for non-existence or falsity OR absence of evidence is not proof for existence or truth. e.g. I had a vision of the future that came to me in a dream and it latter happened. You cannot prove that this is not a form of clairvoyants. (also known as proving the negative)"

M, I can't prove that, <Prove SH didn't try to obtain uranium in Africa >. But I have learned that King George II offered Saddam weapons of mass destruction and safe haven via a disappearing act so that Halliburton could get the oil.

There's no scientific evidence to show that's untrue. In fact there's evidence that it's true. After all, Saddam has disappeared and Halliburton has the oil and the weapons of mass destruction have disappeared with BigFoot and Saddam. If the gloves fit we must acquit. If the slogan's right, we've won the fight.

Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

Or, as Shrodinger said, all wave functions are true and all cats alive until proven to be dead.

Or, as Karl Popper said, theories need to be falsifiable to be acceptable.
