It is a huge step forward, in fact, and draws upon existing leadership, precisely the people who would be running things anyway, baring an abrupt shift to Imamism. Since Imamism is anti- democratic, and we have no desire to collaborate in imposing another dictatorial regime on the country, it is good to ensure stability during a transitional period. Such a transition was always anticipated, I have no idea where you get the idea that we promised immediate elections. If you had any care for durable democracy, instead of a fetishism turn over the country to extremists and/or precipitate civil war, you would applaud the current council.
