I'm actually starting to get scared about the economy. I think the disconnect is widening and the core strengths of the real economy is being zapped by short term speculation in stocks and deficit spending by everyone. The efforts by greenspan to fight deflation will overwhelm us all. Long term rates will continue lower as the need for home/business equity will be required just to stay afloat and meet the demands by a weakening economy.

Gold and silver will need to go lower as the dollar weakens(may not be possible-supply?). How can short term rates rise? We can not afford higher energy costs, health costs, legal costs and taxes....with all state and federal governments receiving less income from taxes as spending goes up. The crisis is worsening not improving. Consumer spending is drying up as equities disappear......we are still paying for the busting of the stock market bubble of 2000...we can not afford the new bubble. Jobless forecasts are already rising.

I don't think our collective moral values are high enough to endure desperate times ahead? In the 30's I think this nations moral values were higher in the way people cared about their fellow man. Today's attitudes of self-preservation and greed will not allow for the needed compassion for others around us.

This country can not be all things to the world, and the rest of the world isn't in very good shape. This nation is a true representation of mankind and must remain free and strong for the sake of the planet. We are not a nation of just japanese, english, germans, french, italians, chinese, spanish etc. Our interests may be world wide because of the diversity of our citizens. What good is the United Nations if we must cowtow to the French or any one small group who is in control for a brief time.

The stock market isn't the economy.....the good and services provided by OUR workers is the economy....our paychecks pay taxes and feed our families and service our debt. It doesn't matter if we are an agricultural society, an industrial society or an information society. Fact is we are all of the above! No CEO of any publicly traded company is worth 100,000 times it's lowest employees pay. Look at all the crooks abusing their social responsibilities that come at a high price to shareholders and consumers. False accounting is just one example of deception that has corrupted our systems of business and governments. Look at the 4min imbalance in the NQ-e-mini contracts yesterday, just a drop in the bucket of potential catastrophe awaiting those dumb enough to believe all is fine war is over....

John Lennon prayed the day he could say WAR IS OVER.....

I'm sorry I'm not eloquent enough to express myself better.

Prepare to defend yourself...war is not over!

Hold on to your jobs and assets...your gonna need them!
