If you have the drivers for the CD (either on your Win98 CD or in a separate disk or if you can download them from the internet), it might make sense to totally uninstall the CD ROM driver, then add it again.

The drivers are probably in my Win98 disk. I don't want to reload the whole damn thing. I will call my local screwdriver shop and see if they have a disk I can use to reload the drivers.

I can't believe I deleted the drivers. I am unclear what I thought I was doing.
