Your attempts at obfuscation are contemptible. " I'm not trying to deny that yellow cake could end up in the hands of terrorists. I should think that was obvious to all. All I'm doing is making erudite comments on the subject of uranium. By the way, if you were able to put two and two together, you'd have figured out, from the links I gave, that it is possible to buy many many pounds of uranium on eBay. If you are so afraid (coward) of uranium getting into the hands of terrorists, then you should be aware that the stuff is commonly sold all over this country. Uranium glass dates to the 1830s and was made extensively until the atomic age found another use for the metal. They were very beautiful objects. For example, check out this uranium glass bowl that sold for $9.95: (temp) cgi.ebay.com Look, if you were truly afraid of yellow cake getting into the hands of terrorists, then why aren't you excoriating Bush for invading Iraq and then failing to stop looting of the places where the yellow cake was well known to be stored? This is a great example of Bush dropping the ball, so why are you complaining to me of obfuscation when all I'm trying to do is to further illuminate the issue? I don't see the uranium as that big of a deal. You could go out prospecting yourself and collect as much of it as you could want in places all over the world. Want to go on a uranium collecting trip? (Hint: Try to get a radiation detector. If you can't find one, get a portable black light, do it at night, and try to avoid walking onto an abandoned mine shaft.) Here's a good place to start, complete with dozens of locations specified by latitude and longitude:mindat.org mindat.org For example, here's the "Lucky Strike Number 2" mine, where uraninite is found, in Utah:Map Reference: 38°45'20"N , 110°56'52"W mindat.org Here's a couple pretty good maps:maps.com plasma.nationalgeographic.com The thing that amazes me is that you are so two faced about this. On the one hand you're all scared and a trembling over a little yellow cake. On the other hand, you don't give a shit about the DU that we spread all over battlefields nowadays, and you probably make fun of the environmentalists with their overblown fears of nuclear power. -- Carl
