Nothing in that posts shows specific wrongdoing by McCarthy or disputes any of Coulter's points. He was censured essentially for teasing the Senate leadership about unwittingly aiding the communist cause. A decorum faux pas at worst. If the same rules were applied today, Ted Kennedy would be thrown out of the Senate for his traitorous remarks about Bush.

If Kennedy did no better than McCarthy, why was McCarthy censured and Kennedy was not?

it turns out there's not a single person who mccarthy fingered who was not indeed a communist:

"... Joe McCarthy, for example. Joe is still potrayed in the press daily as a monster that goaded people to their deaths, and they've never produced one person that he made a false accusation against."
