U.S. officials told Knight Ridder that Bolton was prepared to tell members of a House of Representatives International Relations subcommittee that Syria's development of biological, chemical and nuclear weapons had progressed to such a point that they posed a threat to stability in the region. WHAT??!! These guys are acting as if everything is going well with Iraq! Incredible. Just out of curiosity, I checked the Chickenhawk database ( nhgazette.com ) to see if this Bolton guy is yet another chickenhawk. And sure enough, he is there! Not sure what excuse he gave for his chickening out of the Vietnam War but it could well be one of these : "I had better things to do" (Dick Cheney) or Anal cysts (Rush Limbaugh) or Psoriasis (Ken Starr) or Bad knees (Jack Kemp -- didn't prevent him from playing football though) or Cheerleading (Trent Lott)
