If those really were the only words in question, what is all the fuss about? if the British government said they had learned that, then Bush was entitled to say it whether or not they were correct.

And of course, just because we can't prove that Hussein sought uranium from Africa doesn't mean he didn't do it. Anybody who thinks he had no interest at all in nuclear weapons is, IMO, blowing smoke.

If the war is justified by X and Y and Z and Z turns out to be false then there is still the X and Y justifications.
Quite so. Unless the Z justification was the salient one. Or the one that put the decision over the threshold. Or the X and Y turn out to be just as iffy as the Z.
