How do you know if you're right or wrong?

All I was trying to assert is that someone can be right or wrong. Or actually in that post I didn't even assert that meerly that it is not a given that the idea of moral ideas can be correct or incorrect is not shown as being false just because people disagree about right or wrong.

These people were quite sure they were right. God told them so.

No we are moving from metaphysical ethical principles to a specific practical ethical question.

I'd say they are wrong, in case you had any doubt...

You seem unhappy with religious people who are less than perfect, crazy, criminal, hypocritical, corrupt, naughty, etc. I don't know anyone who would argue that you should not be unhappy with these people but that has nothing to do with the discussion at hand...unless you think the discussion is about supporting anyone who represents themselves as religious, or who references religious doctrine to justify their behavior...well, that would be pretty dopy...don't know where you guys get that.

What will be really interesting is if we get to the end of life and find out that they were right all along.
