lurq-

thanks for the excellent research, reading, reporting
and analysis. you make the rest of us here look like
grade schoolers -- but we can live with that <g>

No, in 2000, I didn’t see the Bush campaign as
a “Revenge of the MIC”, but shouldn’t I have?

NO!

in 2000 you had every right and maybe even a
gentlemanly obligation to take candidate bush
at his word... and his word was not in alignment
with the PNAC, DPG or MIC strategies. his word
was that he was a "compassionate conservative",
and he basically ran on a platform that was a clone
of the democratic platform EXCEPT for the huge
tax cut that he bribed voters with.

so basically he was saying, "look here - i'll give
you everything al gore will give you, PLUS i'll
give you a tax rebate."

it was only after he took office in 2001 that his actions
began to belie his words - he's still using a lot of
talk that is absolutely in conflict with his actions
and policies - but if you read the PNAC strategy you
can see how it aligns perfectly with his policies and
actions.

thanks lurqer
