IBM "met earnings" (code words for they missed by a mile, and could only pencil whip the numbers back to "expected"...<G/NG>)

that doesn't sound so bad to get futs down 11. after all, intc was only 1 cent better an we got the same move in the opposite direction last night <g>

Patron and gang:

Quite an evening, with plenty of well orchestrated accounting and well-rehearsed "guidance ". But behind the scenes, it looks to me like my favourite group of nervous fund managers (the ones I referred to a week or two ago) have decided that it's time to quietly exit. Can't wait to see if there is a pile-up at the doors or whether they can maintain a semblance of discipline. (g)

Have not yet had an opportunity to dig deeply into the IBM numbers but even a quick scan suggests that Lou's accounting magic is alive and well in upper NY state. (g)

Best, earlie
