How did I know I was going to get responses to my post saying 1)"but we haven't found actual WMDs yet, the war is still illegitimate" and 2)"we forged the documents."

GST and others,

Apart from all the fun you are having - this is a stupid discussion. We know what he had in 1991 and in 1998 and that was plenty. In 1991 he had bio, chemical weapons and a nuclear program. In 1998 he had bio and chemical weapons and while there is no dcumentation that he had restarted his nuclear program - none of the materials had been destroyed or removed from the country.

We do not know what was left in 2003. No amount of discussion will resolve that and no posting of thousands of opinions will either.

One of three things happened here -

1) they are hidden and will be found
2) they are hidden and will not be found
3) they were destroyed, but Saddam could not admit that becuase he would lose face - or worse - he needed the bluster

Partisans who dislike the administration are hoping for number 2. If number 1 or 3 occurred and is documented a lot of those Partisans will look pretty foolish.
