Congress abdicated to the President for short-term petty political gain. The Democrats failed to challenge the President for fear of their own electoral prospects. They can claim they were misled but it has a hollow ring to it -- they asked few questions and sighed a blank check for Bush at their earliest convenience. It was shameful. I would not be supportive of any of the democratic candidate who rolled over and played dead, thinking it would help them with their electoral prospects. They have zero credibility as they summons their "indignation" now.
