Remember Jason Blair and a couple of others recently? They were so called journalists, and were speaking for themselves as well. And he/they put false words in the mouths of others.

It is very possible that your author did this as well. How do we know? Do we know anything about the author of the piece you posted? How long has he been working for his present company? Has he had years of credibility?

As for Tony Blair, again, he speaks for himself. If his words aren't in quotes, don't believe the words as his. If they are in quotes, and aren't correct, he can sue the source that printed them.

A "senior source" doesn't cut much water with me.

The author of the report also speaks for himself, and as a journalist he is responsible to investigate and check his facts. He was also interviewed on NPR as I posted.
