Afghanistan is patrolled by the same German troops that we spat on for not doing what they were told on Iraq -- and for the most part that country it is in the hands of the warlords that flood our streets with heroin. Iraq has been invaded, conquered and occupied, and is now an even worse basket case than it was before -- quite an achievement. The international institutional framework represented by international law and the UN, weak as it was, is now in shambles. And to add insult to injury, we now have a sitting President that thinks starting a war on a false pretext is justified because he is doing God's work no matter what lies were told along the way.
