Not only is it safe to crawl out of the volcano, it's probably a good idea if the volcano is about to blow. Just kidding. Anyway, what's encouraging? Money supply might be one thing. From what I have seen it has taken a sharp spike up recently. Perhaps that you are right and this bear market is over and a recovery is upon us. I would like nothing better myself. On the other hand, a market historian like Charles Kindleberger might argue that the easy money policies/flood of liquidity that we are seeing are one of the precursors for a crash. Also, I have not see the "revulsion" that is necessary to complete the down cycle, but perhaps I missed it whilst staring fixedly into them ol' yeller headlights.
