Green Party is very mainstream?

Yes.

If their platform is similar to the American Green Party that is an unsettling thought

I don't know what it is like in the US. I guess it would be different. Environmental consciousness is not a freaky, militant thing in Europe. As you can see in the election results in Germany as well.

Re: If their platform is similar to the American Green Party that is an unsettling thought...

What is more upsetting is how right wing extremism has been allowed to so viciously poison politics in America. The Green Party platform is something that the Progressive of the first two decades of the Twentieth Century would feel perfectly comfortable with, and would endorse as just plain sensible public policy.

What no electable group of the 19th or 20th Centuries prior to the Reagan Revolution would countenance is the anti-American, destructive and vicious policies of an extremist like Little King George. The destruction of our nation's social safety nets, our educational system and our physical infrastructure for the sake of greed is absolutely insane. It is totally unpatriotic and so small minded that we would never have allowed these creeps to have any sizable role in government in the past.

Today, it is the lunatics who are in charge of the asylum. Just look at the total failure of thought that has resulted in the quagmire that the extremists have created in Iraq. We are now up to $68 Billion pissed away on this stupid adventure, while the evil Bush greedheads engage in Orwellian doublespeak as they destroy our forests while claiming to save them from fire, they destroy our air while lying about a disingenuous "Clean Air" initiative, the destroy the international community with their bull-headed and infantile belligerence.

In short, the Bush regime is the worst disaster to have ever befallen this great nation.

Green Parties tend to, if they are allowed to sort out the process, start with
maybe what is called Fascist-Environentalist, back-to-pre-history-time-enviromentalist,
and especially UK-style-animal-rights-activist,then there are the Techno-Eenviromentalists, the Farmer-Enviromentalists, the Disney-World-and-Toursim-Enviromentalists, as well as the
Nuclear-Enviromentalists, the Economity-Enviromentalists as well as the Capitalist-Enviromentalist-
just-need-to-auction-off-and-outsource-out-all-shit-for-a couple-of-years.

However, in some few nations this process get sorted out and it even becomes a habit
of having the greens in government coalition, except for some time now and then when
they protest by leaving the government.

However, there are a lot of other practicises which are not natural for chicken, like getting only
some hours of sleep to grow so fat and as soon as possible , that a regual chicken does not
have to get the legs strong enough to walk around (they also start smelling unnaturally as they
do not get eaten after not getting up anymore)

Not to forget all the other stuff, pecking,etc..

From a capitalistic-enviromentalist point of view it is always disaster when a young
rooster get wrongly sorted, at a very early age, with the egg-laying crowd, instead of
that broiler-crowd.

Oops, forgot the sex-is-fun-in-the-nature-enviromentalists.

However, the most feared, like the UK football-huuligans, are the UK-animal-rights-hooligans
who do not even understand that a natural life for chicken is to be eaten, or the US-pet-version
who declaws cats and would not make a pair of good winter-gloves out of the old dog.
