If I'm not mistaken, I believe CA has
more stringent rules for elderly drivers
on the books. I'd have to look it up.

I believe my mom (who's in her 70's) may be required
to take a behind the wheel test shortly. (I think she
told me that)

I just haven't researched the issue.

The main problem is that the DMV employees don't
enforce anything. I've seen them give people
the pamphlet and written test and just let them look
up the answers.

I daresay there is more of a problem here with
people who have no license or insurance and who
never properly learned to drive than we have with
elderly people.

I think the standards and requirements should
be strengthened across the board.

Driving is a privilege not a right.

But, that's just me.
