I did not say anyone knew what was done with the WMDs at that point.

I do not recall andorsing Boot on that point.

We are making a determination at leisure. We did not have such leisure before neutralizing the threat.
I pointed out what the scientist said, which is that the intent was to provide for starting the nuclear program up at the earliest opportunity, not that it was ready to go.

There is a big difference between the level of force that would be used if the war stayed conventional, or if it went with WMDs.

He would use proxies in order to preserve deniability, and avoid retaliation. It was the only viable strategy.

We shall see where opinion lands in the ensuing year or so........
