ILCUL8R,

Re: I am astonished no comments about the stellar speech to the joint houses of congress by Tony Blair have surfaced.

We were waiting for you to break the ice. I noticed that there was the same sort of unreflective adulation expressed by a number of callers on C-SPAN in the aftermath of the speech. It was a crushing blow. I can hardly believe that you and so many others are so perfectly willing to fall for a con job and abdicate your responsibilities as a critical thinker in a purported democracy.

You idol worshipping is revolting to me. Have you not paid the least bit of attention to the fact that Blair, or Bliar as his known at home, has his reputation in tatters for leading his nation into a war on false pretenses? Does honesty mean nothing to you? Are you so shallow that the mere showmanship Blair displayed is enough to satisfy you?

What ever in the world do you think of the 30,000 or so Iraqi lives that have been snuffed out by the illegitimate and dishonest arrogance of a man like Tony Blair. Have you no sense of decency? How can you possibly fall for what at best amounts to a superb carney barker or sales pitch with all the distraction that is involved in your willingly lying to yourself and believing that everything is all right, just because the words come out in the right order.

Have the rule of law and morality been banned from our lives?

As Ian Duncan Smith constantly reminds the House of Commons and the British people, correctly so, no one can believe Tony Blair. He has no credibility. He's a dishonest shill for imperial theft. Just because he does it well, doesn't mean he's doing it right.

Re: I would gladly vote for him as President.

And I, sir, therefore fear for the future of democracy. <ng>
