<<why are you working so hard to avoid the obvious conclusion, that Bush believed incorrect intelligence?>>

I think you are exactly right here Nadine. I believe that he was been fed this BS from his inner sanctum who are the ones that are really running the show! (Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Cheney et al.)

However, that being said.....he is the one that has ultimate responsibility. That's what he signed on for.
"The buck stops here."

Hey Nadine...the "obvious conclusion"....the moron lied so he could get his revenge for the attempt on the life of daddy and he is surrounded by those that thought getting rid of Saddam anyway was a good idea so we could bring "a mkt based economy and democracy" to the middle east, i.e. we have better control of the place. It is looney tunes time with your crowd in DC.

>>working so hard to avoid the obvious conclusion<<

OK...

so he was duped......by whom?....and not exactly a confidence builder....who takes the fall?

Tenet?

If memory serves,Tenet was cautious in his conclusions, right up till he was plunked behind Bush at the UN to back up Bush's statements.

Anyway..the " I wus jist'a beliven what the good folks over at the CIA wus a tellin me ".....won't wash. There are too many checks and balances for that to slip through to a believable or acceptable explanation.

>>Amazing how fast a guy whom the left has called a moron for the last three years turns into an all-knowing liar in an instant.<<

Many morons are also liars and/or easily mislead, but what Bush was aware of is anybody's guess in this " super secret " administration.

However you slice it,ignorance is not an excuse in a court of law,nor should it be with political leaders.
