Threat to National Security? How was Saddam a threat? We took out his army in three weeks.

Regional Security, yes to a degree, and that is where the Israeli interest and the US interest intersect, but for completely different reasons. The main reason for the US invasion of Iraq is singular and underlies all the other window dressing you want to cover the truth with. OIL.
