Thank you. People often construct their lives in such a way as to heighten the emotional content. After all, if we are in a fight to the death over the fate of the Republic, then spending a lot of time spouting off on a message board is rather like doing one's part to save the Republic, and if it is mostly a matter of war, not discussion, one needn't burden oneself with well- developed arguments or careful research, one only needs to denounce or extol properly. In the same way, the chief reason people like love affairs is because they are inherently dramatic: having such passion as to deceive your spouse, rushing to meet in some off beat motel, all the danger of being caught, all the thrill of throwing off constraint.......
