Malcolm, Siemens and China don't have their own CDMA. They will pay QUALCOMM royalties as per their existing agreement and in accordance with international agreements on patents. Altruism is more than advice. If Jay's advice cost him all his money, but he gave it anyway, that would be altruism. But that's not what he did.

I give free advice whether people want it or not, but I don't pretend that makes me an altruist.

An attitude to QCOM doesn't determine altruism. Most people on earth haven't heard of QUALCOMM.
