Iraqis live under US occupation.

And what were they living under prior to the war? Baathist occupation??

If they were free to choose, there is every indication that they would ask us to leave.

And if they were free to choose, do you think they would also ask Saddam to come back and re-establish his rule?

Or maybe they would like the Iranians to take over?

If elections were held, religious leaders would dominate as winners.

Which ones? The Shiites? And which groups of Shiites? Al-Sistani's less political groups, or the Sadr and Hakim's more politically "active" folks.

And once they have power, how will they provide for the betterment of their people?

Iraq does not belong to the United States.

Who said it did? Neither Germany or Japan belonged to us either.

As is so often the case in life with people like yourself, it's very easy to "b*tch and moan" and/or espouse conspiracy theories, but when you finally are told to provide your own solutions, you're no smarter than the rest of us.
