cocaine ?

Maybe you are thinking of opium??

China has become a very powerful nation now that Mao had it united and threw the foreigners out.

Towards the end of WW2 Mao could have been a friend of the USA (like Ho Chi Mhin) but the opportunity was lost.

A lot of European business is moving to China.

Odd how practically every capitalist on the planet now says China is the "bees knees".

< It will take them 100 years, if not longer, to get to the same standard as that eastern Europe or South America.>

Actually, each person born isn't too concerned with what's gone before. They like their own life to be good. So, with the right philosophical foundations, they can go in a single generation right to the top of the class. Singapore did it. China can do it.

They are already ahead of most of the rest of the world with their adoption of CDMA2000. None of Europe has it yet and by 2010, Europe will be looking positively backward. China will never be strung with copper wire. They'll go straight to fibre and CDMA2000 phragmented photons.

We won't be able to hire Chinese for low pay for many years. As soon as the cheap pool of people is drained, prices will rise quickly. Made in China is a gold rush - the bargains are on sale now. It won't last.
