We did not liberate either Germany or Japan. We conquered them. We did not liberate Iraq, we conquered Iraq. BTW, Japan justified invading its neighbors in World War II by saying that they would be economically much better off under Japanese rule. Japan claims they attacked Pearl Harbor in "self-defense". When one country invades another -- particularly when vast quantities of strategic natural resources can be controlled as a result -- all kinds of lame excuses are offered. We did NOT liberate Iraq. We conquered Iraq and now have an army of occupation facing a guerilla war of unknown scale, intensity and duration.
