intellectualize

1. To furnish a rational structure or meaning for.
2. To avoid psychological insight into (an emotional problem) by performing an intellectual analysis.

Maybe if the Neocons were less emotional and took more time to develop a rational structure for their meaning the gap could be narrowed between them and the rest of the world.

Rational, intellectual analysis is a desireable value in an informed civilization.

BUt never mind, keep using the ready-shoot-aim approach to world affairs and argument. You might win eventually by shooting up and shutting up everybody else.

Based on your argument, no one should ever speak up against the state, which would mean that our country would look no different than Iraq, or N. Korea, or Syria, or Saudi Arabia....

Our government doesn't "allow us" to "speak out", We the People have retained the right to ourselves to speak out- if you don't get that, you don't get out form of government. If our government, in the future, failed to represent us (perhaps because that government thought that it was up to government to "allow" free speech or not) the men who made our constitution would expect us to rise up, and establish another government that did.

Those who fail to speak up, will someday find they are unable to speak up. You should be grateful to those you do speak up, imo, since they are the guardians of your right, should you ever decided to exercise it (and something assures me you already did- under the last administration....)
