Nor (IMO) should any general US equity LTB&H hope be kindled. Unless this secular bear is radically different than the two previous ones, we have a long, long way to go, before LTB&H will be a generally winning strategy again. Does mean there won’t be some exceptions along the way. If the demographic academics are correct, the next secular bull is “scheduled” to begin in 2018 – a long time for even LTB&H types. Sure the future Intel of Nanotech or Microsoft of Biotech, may IPO before then, and never be “available “ at their low IPO price again. And we’ll certainly get the occasional bear rally – that‘ll be touted as the end of the bear. But a general market rise in a secular bull market, with most “boats” rising, just “ain’t in the cards” for a while.
