It varies -- I do not discuss my work much on these open forums. I spend an average of about 3 months of every year in Asia -- mainly in China in the past few years. I have wide ranging contacts with business and government at various levels depending on the specific work at hand. I cancelled my China travel during the SARS outbreak -- I was extremely ill myself last year with a-typical pneumonia for four months, dropping from 185 pounds down to 145 with no effective treatment (although steroids provided relief) and after multiple hospital stays was told "there is nothing more we can do". I contracted whatever it was after traveling in Guangzhou eight months before the official SARS outbreak, and my travels included the town that was ground zero for SARS -- I decided not to expose myself or loved ones again.
