Latest safety tests show SUV's are NOT very safe. This safety issue is a big bunch of propaganda put out by the auto industry and oil business. SUV's are easy to flip over. They are also big gaz guzzlers most of them and add to pollution and traffic congestion. People who buy SUV's who dont have four kids or live on dirt roads in the country are basically selfish. Bill O'Reilly did a big show on this recently and scolded the Bushies for supporting wasteful policies which made us more dependent upon Arab oil and pollute our country.

The safest cars are not SUV's but Swedish and German cars which are built to withstand impacts. I happen to have a Saab and was run into from behind at 30 MPH. Not a scratch. The bumper is built like a spring to withstand punishment and minimize whiplash to the driver. If I had been driving an SUV I'd have at least $1500 damage to both my car and the one which ran into me. Also remember the Ford SUV scandals where they blamed it on Firestone and vice evrsa. How can you say those cars are "safe"? And what do we need to drive, tanks? This increased oil consumption indirectly benefits terrorists too. And how much do we really pay gfor a gallon of Arab gas when you factor in the military expenses?
