Shall we also pray for a warm winter or just turn our thermostats down to 50 degrees?

We HAVE to bring down fuel consumption.

We don't "HAVE" to do any such thing, unless nanny state eco-nuts (like Kerry and the rest of the seven dwarves) get voted in and regulate the hell out of everything, even more so than now. Hopefully, that won't happen. Market forces work (a fact about which you, and other brain locked "liberals", obviously don't have a clue), in energy as well as other commodities and products. And, as I've previously documented on this thread, there are no shortages of petroleum based energy reserves (huge amounts in North America alone) and indeed there won't be for many hundreds of years into the future.
