the one of the beauty in the blue chair is exceptional.

(that color of blue is exactly 180 degrees off phase
from skin color - maybe that's why it makes such a good
contrasting background - you see it used a LOT in TV
for talking heads.)

interesting trivia... in TV work, we use a vectorscope
which converts color into a vector that displays on a
360 degree, round scale somewhat like a flat compass
on a tv screen. deep blue shows as a line that would
correspond to about 125 degrees if it were a compass.
skin color is the reciprocal and shows as a line
that would correspond to about 305 degrees. what i found
most interesting when i started in this field is that
the difference in skin color, from person to person...
(and i'm talking the whole spectrum - from the most fair
skinned to the darkest skinned) is only about 2.5 degrees
on the vectorscope.

the difference in michael jackson then and michael
jackson now is about 1 degree out of 360.
