Is that a bad thing? Depends on your perspective. I suppose if another country wanted to control our wheat preduction, some folks might object. Thus the advantage of being the only "super-power". John, now you've gotten to the crux of the problem. We have a lot of power at our disposal and virtually no one to oppose us. Many conservatives don't see that as a moral issue. At the bottom, it's all about oil. While it is a popular notion amongst the uninformed, there simply is no evidence to support the idea that it "is about oil". Oil may well be one term in a rather extensive equation. It's about controlling another countries natural resources. There is nothing to suggest that we will "control" another countrie's natural resources once the war is over and Iraq is able to control them on their own. Frankly, this is just the BS spewed forth by uninformed liberals. brain-terminal.com

At the bottom, it's all about oil. No it isn't all about oil. Although oil is a huge part of it. I never said anything about "stealing" oil, did you think we would? Sorry if I implied that you did say anything about stealing oil. However a lot of the people who say "its all about oil", say or at least imply that it is about stealing the Iraqi oil, or at least locking up big contracts for US oil and oil industry supply companies. It's about controlling another countries natural resources. Well maybe I should take back my apology. That isn't to far from saying its about stealing Iraq's oil. I would also its very inaccurate. To the extent it is about oil its mostly about Kuwaiti and Saudi oil. Iraqi oil is relevant in that it can pay for Iraq's reconstruction but beyond that it isn't really a major factor. Tim
