My biggest fear is that the inevitable migration out of Calif will head north to Washington state forcing new taxes to pay for the infrastructure needed to accommodate all of those fleeing socialism.

As much as I'd like it to be, the problem with California is not necessarily a partisan one. Fareed Zakaria pointed out in his recent book that 85%--not a typo--of the State budget is pre-allocated pursuant to mandates resulting from referenda. The California State Legislature has discretionary control over only 15% of the budget.

This is totally out of control. It has nothing to do with whether you like or detest Gray Davis. Californians need to look to themselves for the solution since their votes on referenda created the problem.
