An air-refueling tanker would probably suffice to get your planes out there. Not sure if the Icelanders would trust your blokes around their cod, though. Despite having no military, they fought and won the "Cod War" with Great Britain. Their strategic weapon was a kind of large garden shears used to cut the enemy trawler nets. Some of these are now in the national museum.

Gotta admit I'm a little puzzled that they're so upset about us pulling out now. Iceland was very strategic during WWII, when the allies illegally grabbed it to support their convoys. But now? I'm going to have to start a spreadsheet to keep track of whether countries are mad at us for invading them or for pulling out.
