Why do Americans seem to think everybody else has to be like them? Matt Drudge that Kofman is not only openly and proudly gay... Canadians seem outrageously liberal to many Americans their fundamental notions of tolerance and decency are so vastly different from [Americans'] It [Canada] spends about 45% of gross domestic product on government programs, vs. 35% for the U.S. It has national health care, doesn't have a death penalty, and in most cases considers abortion a private issue between a woman and her doctor. And Canada, unlike the U.S., has strict gun-control legislation. etc etc It's a different country. What is so weird about that?

Cinco de mayo: when Mexico kicked France's butt. Sure its a minor holiday since after all - who hasn't? Still worth remembering.
