The Convention
or
The Dilemma

subtitled : as if any Liberal would listen to me.

I have never voted for a Liberal at any level in any election, call me anti-Canadian, I have always voted for the Conservatives. I am a small c conservative, and have some pretty horrific views according to many of my fellow Canadians, as a smaller letter, I am a p, I am a pragmatist.
The election of the the Right Honourable Paul Martin to lead the Liberal Party seems to be a foregone conclusion for many. As the reality of Prime Minister Chretien's approach nears and the convention comes closer it appears that it will come down to two people. John Manley has ceded that he stands no chance of beating Mr. Martin, but Heritage Minister Sheila Copps has stated that she will stay in the running. Ms. Copps has excellent grassroots support in the Liberal party but she has less committed strength in the party's upper echelons.

So, if you ask me I will say Go Sheila Go.
If nothing else we would have four years of very refreshing government, like iced tea with a healthy blast of vodka.
