I agree with much of what you say, but not this part "So the US, refusing to live under fear". I think fear is exactly what we are living under -- I think fear has been effectively used to manipulate American public opinion to support a political agenda unrelated to the national security of the United States -- what is worse, this agenda makes us more isolated, more hated and more vulnerable in the short term as well as more likely to lose influence in the future.
