The demonstrators placed a huge portrait of the Goddess of Democracy on the gates of the Xinhua news agency. The goddess was very similar in form to the Statue of Liberty. Then there is Delacroix' painting Liberty Leading the People. Now is that sublimated goddess worship or what?
