The anti-American left-which spent DECADES fanatically opposing safe and effective nuclear power plants-JUST HATES the idea that we took out Saddam and prevented him from building his nuclear bomb and killing Americans with it.

And THAT is WHO they are, and WHAT they are...

You still don't get it?

The War was fought about WMD, not about humanitarian efforts. Colin Powell was not talking about humanitarian efforts when he made his speech to the UN, he was talking about WMD.

Bush did not get the UN to support the war. This is what the world is MOST upset about, as should you. There was NO reason to RUSH TO WAR.

In all the other cases you mentioned the US went in with the support of the UN and it was NOT a pre-emptive strike.

The upshot would be that the Iraq invasion was not in our "national interest," at least narrowly conceived, and that we thus fought the war exclusively for humanitarian reasons. This was Bush's third rationale for the war, and it has proven impregnable. The Left has had no success in casting doubt on the monstrousness of Hussein's rule.

So what! You want monstrosity, check out the rulers of Burma or Sierra Leone or Zimbabwe or Liberia or the Democratic Republic of the Congo aka Zaire. The right doesn't have a clue as to what constitutes monstrosity. The only thing that distinguishes Saddam's monstrosity from the others is oil.

And you know who does oil well.......Halliburton aka Cheney's company.
