Mike, the world will not write your rulers a blank cheque on its future because you were impressed by those images ... we were all so impressed, and all of us on this thread felt quite thoroughly attacked in those events .... remember that NYC is a major city of our species, not just of the USA ... our premier of BC had both his sons there that day, one was working in Manhattan and the other was visiting him .... the casualties were of eighty nations, including both of mine

For the PNAC-indoctrinated to use these events as convenient justification for a few men in Washington to decide everything for everybody forever, is to fall right in line with bin Laden's plan of splitting the world .... don't hand him a cheap victory by permitting your rulers this hubris, amigo, you got to figure out quick who are your friends, and who are your enemies

I was in New York the day before 9/11 and was on my way to the airport when 9/11 unfolded but my flight was, thankfully, cancelled. I am no stranger to security issues.

On a separate topic, I was glad to hear the news about Saddam's sons -- it has nothing to do with terrorism or our national security, but good riddance. Perhaps this will provide cover for Bush to call in the UN and get the hell out of Iraq.
